"I'm a busy entrepreneur who always looked at a holistic lifestyle as austere and too much work. Yolanda helped me realize a healthy lifestyle was really achievable. I sleep irregularly, work long hours, love tasty food , junk food, you name it.  I genuinely never thought I could balance that with what I "perceived" healthy living was,  What I liked about Yolanda's approach was she showed me how ease into a more healthy routine.  The operative word is ease because she really understood how to work with my personality. She literally looked at my grocery shopping list and parcel by parcel offered healthy alternatives I could deal with. Over the last year or so I genuinely replaced cravings for whoppers, fries, and shakes with pomegranate juice, dates, and unprocessed foods.

Her way of asking questions, listening, and empowering me, helped me to uncover and renew the role of relaxation and exercise in my busy schedule. I simply wanted to do "more" for my mind, body, and soul because of this program. If you have pre-conceived notions about holistic living like I did or just want to feel more purposeful on a day to day basis I highly recommend spending some time with this woman! Her program improved my quality of life."

"The results were amazing.  The biggest benefit was that Yolanda helped me get present to the foods I was eating and the impact those foods had on my body.  I learned what foods made me tired, what foods gave me energy etc.  As a real estate investor and educational trainer, it is important that I maximize my energy and get the most out of my day to produce the best results possible.  Thanks to altering my eating habits I was able to sustain new levels of energy consistently working with Yolanda.   I knew I wanted to eat healthier, but I didn’t know how to cook and what to cook.  After working with her I was clear what foods were good for my body and I also learned how to cook healthy food dishes.  One of the biggest concerns that I had was making time for cooking.  Conceptually I know that it is important to eat healthy because without health what do we have?  But, I still was not finding the time to cook and eat healthy.  So I would say the biggest benefit was my shift in context.  I was able to really experience that taking the time to cook and eat healthy would have a positive impact in all areas of my life, business, relationships, happiness etc.   Now, I cook healthy meals for myself weekly, I’m aware of how different foods impact my mood and energy, and I focus on the positive things as opposed to the negative actions I take around my health."

"Yolanda is a firm yet encouraging health coach who has helped me to see the benefits of leading a healthier lifestyle.  With her coaching, I have become a more conscious shopper, a healthier individual, and a more mindful consumer. Plus, I lost weight to boot! Her knowledge and enthusiasm for leading a health-conscious lifestyle has forever made me rethink the foods that I choose to let enter my body.  Quite honestly, she was dealing with a tough customer, too. I regarded the 'holistic movement' and its ilk as marketing tools to push higher-priced products.Yet Yolanda's obvious enthusiasm was infectious and her coaching was neither cloying in her support nor strident in her suggestions. For my needs, Yolanda suggested small but important changes that had remarkable effects - more energy, more vibrancy, (and most surprising of all) the natural shift towards, and inclination for, positive feelings and behavior. Now I reach for 'nature's sweets' instead of the man-made kind and have learned to appreciate food. I also have new respect for the body and how amenable it is to positive changes. I would recommend her again to anyone who is need of health counseling."

"I had the wonderful opportunity to work with Yolanda for over a course of six months. I can sincerely say that she has been a very crucial person in my life. Prior to meeting Yolanda I had very poor eating habits and was completely removed from a healthy relationship with food. I did not even know the difference between a whole food and processed food. I exercised very regularly but derailed all the benefits by indulging in tons of dead food such as Cheetos, ramen noodles, fish sticks, and wash it down with several glasses of Soda. Even worse I severely turned my nose up at vegetables. After meeting Yolanda, however; I discovered that I had completely killed my taste buds and she helped me to slowly transition into foods that would be beneficial to my body without giving up on taste.

Thus I discovered the world of delicious vegetables, whole grains, fruits, fresh condiments, and amazing recipes. I learned invaluable lessons on how to adopt healthy eating habits that one can use for the long run. I realized that I never made a connection with food. I fed my body junk and expected it to utilize this for my benefit. I never associated eating poorly with tiredness, crankiness or constipation. After working with Yolanda it finally dawned on me that perhaps eating crap is not the best way to help my body work for me. And thus after incorporating Yolanda’s advice I began to lose weight and I felt more energetic, I felt like I knew what my body needed.  I had changed so much that I craved healthy food and the smell of a McDonald’s made me nauseous. I am extremely happy that Yolanda was able to help me adopt a healthier lifestyle but I am even more grateful that I could be a positive example to those around me. Today, I continue to consult Yolanda whenever I have questions about food, recipes, or to clarify any questions I have about nutrition. I eat very well and exercise daily I drink plenty of water and enjoy the positive things in life. I trust Yolanda so implicitly that I recommended my sister to consult her as well. I feel more youthful in my 30’s than I ever did; it is only due to fact that Yolanda has helped me to learn how to nourish my body properly and adequately."

For the last two years of my life, Yolanda has helped me make a major shift in the ways in which I view food.  She understands the way in which I was raised to view massive quantities of nutrient-poor foods as a means to celebrate, or comfort myself, or spend time with family. It is more than accurate to say that my family gatherings require that everyone present stuff themselves full of vast amounts of fried, over processed, rich, and calorie dense food - literally until you're clothing is bursting at the seams. This is considered normal. In my home-life with my immediate family, large portions of food have come to represent prosperity, and having enough money to buy lots of food means that we must lick our plates clean in gratitude for our financial abundance which afforded us the opportunity. Yolanda has had the benefit of her Holistic Health Counseling education, to bring to the literal and figurative table, and re-teach me that we do not need to live for food.

We do not need to abuse food, and our own bodies to feel, love, prosperity, joy etc... Yolanda has taught me much about the other human needs that many people (myself included) have attempted to satiate with abuse of food. With Yolanda's help, I have not only found new ways of looking at each morsel that passes my lips, I have been introduced to a number of foods (my two favorites being: Kale & Sweet Potato) that I have incorporated into my dietary life, that have helped me #1 detox from things like sugar addiction, #2 enriched my knowledge of where my food comes from and #3 helped me satisfy my hunger with whole foods, and not a watered down version of what Yolanda reminds me is "the real thing". (Prime example: shying away from sweet potato PIE, and enjoying instead the rich, buttery taste of an actual sweet potato, roasted in the oven w. some nutmeg and cinnamon). Yolanda's approach is non-judgmental, care-FULL, and endearing. She too is a lover of food. Having herself succumb to the trappings of food=love ideals, she's been there. Now she knows better, and she has helped me and many others, KNOW BETTER, so we can do better. I'm proud to call her my Holistic Health Counselor.
